Our History & Mission

A Gaelic Blessing:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This Traditional Gaelic blessing is where Rising Roads Recovery Services for Women began.

The blessing starts out talking about taking a walk where the roads rise up and make the journey a little less difficult. The wind is at your back, instead of your face, which helps you along instead of holding you back. The sun shining warm on you is pleasant instead of cold or too hot. The rain falls soft on your fields so that your crops grow. And lastly that “God,” as you understand it, holds you tight and protects you.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide women with an integrated and balanced experience for the purpose of diving deeper into the recovery process – body, mind, and spirit. Through experiential trauma work, expressive arts, nutritional guidance, and self-care practices, the Rising Roads program builds from the recovery foundation constructed in primary treatment. We believe the commitment to extended care increases the chances of quality long-term recovery.

A Safe Place

We are a place where every woman can find the path to her own happy destiny.

  • We want to lift the road up and meet her where she is so she isn’t walking uphill all alone.
  • We want to be the wind at her back, emotionally supporting her moving forward, pushing a little when necessary.
  • We want her surroundings and peers to be her warm sun and make the process more pleasant.
  • We want her therapists, group facilitators, and the staff to be the soft rain cultivating the new her.
  • We want to help her find a higher power she can believe in.

Supportive Environment

At Rising Roads, we believe that lasting sobriety requires you to have a life you're not willing to give up. And our gender-specific program offers women the necessary support and guidance to achieve recovery, prevent relapse and re-integrate back into a sober life.

To achieve this, we use a combination of Eastern and Western philosophies and addiction treatment care plans as well as 12-step participation. These include:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling
  • 12-step meetings
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Family systems workshops and family counseling
  • Art therapy
  • Experiential therapy
  • Mindfulness training
  • Healthy relationship workshops
  • Boot camps
  • Yoga
  • Life skills groups
  • Post relapse care
  • Nutritional guidance
  • Cooking classes
  • Employment assistance
  • Educational assistance
